CMU was set up as China Medical College on June 6, 1958. It is changed itself into China Medical University in 2003. It is the primary scholarly institution in Taiwan where Chinese medicine and pharmacy programs are given. With well-designed, globally competitive programs and famous staff individuals from all over Taiwan and around the world, the university has consistently developed over time to its show status as one of the first medical universities in Taiwan and the More prominent China region. The university has two major campuses, Taichung and Beigang.


In terms of educating, the Office of Medicine of our school has passed the evaluation of the Taiwan Medical Accreditation Council (TMAC) and won the honor of exception for 7 a long time; and won the highest grant of 78 million within the medical category of the 95-year Teaching Excellence Program of the Service of Education Yuan, effectively carry out school-wide teaching system reforms, proceed to set up values and campus culture with the objective of learning quality, and proceed to get 80.34 million Yuan in gifts in 1996. The Medical Center and the Cell and Gene Therapy Laboratory have performed outstanding research in translational medicine.


At present, there are eight colleges including

Various research and medical equipment are complete. About 70% of the departments are related to Chinese and Western medicine.
